Is it beneficial to swim during the winter months?

In order to maintain your child's current skills and for them to progress through the levels it is vital that they continue to swim year round.  The pool is heated and covered during the winter months to ensure an ideal temperature for children to continue their participation in swimming lessons.  If your child has a tendency to be more sensitive to the cooler months dressing them in appropriate swimming attire will help keep them warm.  The greatest heat loss is through the head so putting a swimming cap on your child's head will help to keep your little ones warmer.

What age can my baby start swimming lessons?

The best age to start formal swimming lessons is at 4-5 months.  At this age baby has good head control and is positively stimulated by new experiences.

How long will it take my child to learn how to swim?

Children develop and learn at different rates and therefore there is no definitive answer to this question.  However, if you want your child to learn fast, the key is repetition.  Children learn through repetition and a fun learning environment.  Practising at home or booking them in for multiple lessons will help to develop your child’s skills at a faster rate.
